PRINCIPAL’S POINT OF VIEW
November is the month in which my family focuses on the many things to be
thankful for in the world. Take some time each day this month to sit with your
children to discuss all the wonderful things in the world that we sometimes take
for granted. Hudson Maxim School students will join in this by holding its first
Thanksgiving Sing-A-Long for 1st grade students. Miss Pinizzotto, our music
teacher, in conjunction with Mrs. Sanderson, our art teacher, have been working
diligently to prepare a special sing-a-long for students, staff, and parents.
Each class will dedicate a special song of thanks to the world. Depending upon
which class your 1st grader is in, please join us on November 22, 2005 or
November 23, 2005. The schedule is as follows:

need to cancel the parades. However, students will still have their parties and
be able to dress up.
LIBRARIAN’S NOTES
We're beginning another great week in the Hudson Maxim Library! Since all of the
children are very excited about the autumn season, we are going to be
concentrating on creating a "Rhyming Pumpkin Patch." The children will be using
their rhyming and matching skills to form a class created and individually made
pumpkin patch of rhyming words. All of the students are very enthusiastic about
rhyming and really enjoy it! While working on the Books and Beyond program, you
may want to share some rhyming stories or poems with your children and have them
share their rhyming skills with you!
Also, this week the children are involved in a guessing game for prizes! There
is a glass pumpkin located in the library that is filled to the brim with
Starburst candies! The students are being asked to guess how many candies are in
the pumpkin and their guesses are recorded and saved. The winner will be chosen
on Halloween, and then we will let out the secret of how many candies are
actually in the pumpkin! Thanks to HEPTO for sponsoring this great contest for
our little librarians! Happy Trick or Treating to all, and keep on reading!
